Does anyone know of a direct replacement for the old fuel sneding device in a 1750 with internal tank, or what the tank depth is.

Thanks

I used a standard Moeller mechanical sending unit. I have a 1850 Sportfish and my tank is roughly 7" deep. I opened the inspection cover over the sending unit, took out the old one, and dropped a tape measure in to verify depth. I found that my problem was not the sending unit as a whole, but the cork had become saturated with gas and sank. I ended up just replacing the cork with a neoprene float. ( same hole in center )
The float is a direct replacement for a 28-31 Ford Model A. I hope this helps, Phil

If you have not found the depth yet, I'll know sometimes this week. I'm going to be replacing mine with an electronic one.

As far as mechanical or electric, you can have both. I have the Moeller mechanical sending unit, but I changed out the gauge on top with one that has the gauge on the tank as well as leads to hook it up to your dash mounted gauge. (Moeller Fuel Sending Unit Conversion Capsule 035760-10) Phil
