I need to replace the Evinrude 150 HP on my 1860EFS (1994 model) with a new motor. The old motor weighs 375 lbs and the newer 150 HP options weigh around 455 to 485 lbs. Some dealers say the 150 HP is fine. Others recommend matching the weigh, not the HP, which means buying a 115 HP motor. Does anyone have an experience with this issue?
