Hi,

I have been reading this forum for a while, but it's my first post. I have a 1986 16.2 LTD w/ a 90hp Evinrude that is a fantastic boat and absolutely flies. I just purchased a 1990 1850 DC Sportfish w/ a 1991 Yamaha 150 that I haven't even put in the water yet. It was so nasty that I decided to clean it up first as well as (while you're in there) type of stuff. I can't wait to put it in the water. While cleaning, I removed all of the decals (they were trash anyway). I had a buddy reproduce the WAHOO! decals on the side of the boat in the correct gray & black. I had to buy too many sets to get him to do it without wasting his material, so I have a lot of decals now. I am selling them on EBAY for anyone who would like a set and will also include a decal for your favorite vehicle. These decals are produced with "air release" vinyl and go on very easily. All three decals are $49.95 + $2.99 shipping. If I can figure out how to post pics on this forum, I will. Otherwise go to Ebay and search Wahoo decals.  Thanks, Phil

Mike,

Thanks for the response. I was wondering if anybody even saw my post. I might have to get some more decals made. I only have one set left right now. I could not believe I had 24 people watching the last set I sold on Ebay. I think these just "look right" as compared to the others that I have seen. Originality was what I was going for even though I used a heavier guage vinyl with the air release that made them go on easier than any decal that I have ever applied. I am usually lucky if I don't get the decal stuck to me before getting it onto the boat. One of my friends says that he's going to pull his off and put a set of mine on. He doesn't like his because the say Brunswick corporation and mine are more true to form.

Thanks for reading my dissertation, Phil

Mike,

I have had very good response to the Ebay ad. I worked pretty hard to make sure that the decals are exactly like the originals, because I got them made originally for my Wahoos. The new decals are made from an air release vinyl that is far superior to the original decals and very easy to apply. I really hope that you like them.  Thanks, Phil

I have been asked on the Ebay site multiple times about how to remove the old decals if someone were to purchase my new decals. It depends on how long they have been on the boat and out in the sun. If they don't look to be very weathered and haven't become part of the boat, a little heat from a heat gun should do it. If they  look to have been there forever and it's scaring you to attempt removal, you want to use EASY OFF oven cleaner. You can just spray it directly on the decal and it will loosen it up so that you can take it off with a plastic scraper. The EASY OFF also will take painted-on logos and in my case an entire ZZ Topp logo from the side of your boat without damaging the gel coat.

I have been selling the ones that I make for $49.95 delivered. I can get them made in different colors as well, but I prefer the factory look myself.  It makes the boat look like it is not as old as it actually is. My feeling is that when something is changed from non-factory " Why did they do that? " " Are they hiding something or was major work done and it's not still natural as it left the factory?"  I guess it's just personal preference. Plus I am a multiple Wahoo owner and a forum member.

The weather in Myrtle Beach, SC is 78 today and it really makes me think that Spring is really around the corner even though it is supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow. I can't wait to put either of my boats back in the water knowing as soon as I do the weather will stay nice for quite a while. Besides the weather being nice, I have been selling a few sets of the decals. It shows that others are thinking as I am and are ready to get their toys in shape for the season.Cool

Just FYI. I had a new batch of Wahoo decals made last week. You can search on Ebay for Wahoo Boat Decals. My decals are the correct color and size as the originals.

I am down to two sets remaining before I have more made. If anyone on the forum has purchased them, please let the others know what you think of them. Our forum presence is not large, but I have learned an immense amount from fellow posters. Thanks, Phil
